Atlanta’s Hometown Sports Bar Assembles a Dream Team of Drink Specials
for Local Football Fans
ATLANTA (Aug. 27, 2019) — Since opening its doors in the summer of 2018, Irby’s Tavern has firmly established itself as Atlanta's No. 1 spot for fans of the city's history, culture and sports. And now, with football season kicking off in a couple of weeks, Buckhead’s favorite gathering place is fielding a roster of drink specials to cement its status as the city’s premier sports hangout.
“Irby’s Tavern is already the most welcoming and fan-friendly spot in Buckhead,” says owner Jack Murphy. “With these specials, our guests can enjoy watching football all day long, without breaking the bank. If you’re a fan of the Falcons or the Bulldogs, there’s no better place to get together on game day to cheer on your favorite team.”
Fans who like a good beer while rooting for the home team can enjoy $12.50 pitchers of Coors Light and Dos Equis and $15 pitchers of Bud Light. For those who prefer a can or longneck, buckets of domestic (Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra and Yuengling) are $15 and Mexican buckets (Corona, Corona Premier and Pacifico) are $17.50. And if hard seltzer is preferred, a bucket of High Noon offerings (black cherry and grapefruit) is $17.50 and a bucket of White Claw is $20.
Adult beverage options include Milagro tequila, Bacardi rum and Jim Beam ($5); Ketel One vodka and on-tap Dragon Bomb cocktails ($7.50); frozen margaritas ($9); and the frozen Transfusion, made with Ketel One vodka, ginger ale, grape juice and lime ($9).
Other specials include Whiskey Wednesdays with $5 Jack Daniel’s, Jameson, Crown Royal and Crown Regal Apple; Tropicalia Thursdays, with $4 Tropicalia IPA and Creature Comforts on tap; and $16 bottomless mimosas during weekend brunch.

About Irby’s Tavern
Irby’s Tavern is just down the street from where Henry Irby built Buckhead’s first tavern and grocery in the mid-1800s. Legend has it that Irby’s business also may have contributed to the naming of the iconic Atlanta neighborhood when a hunter attached a buck’s head to a post out front, and the nickname stuck. By naming their tavern after a piece of Atlanta history, owners Douglas and Jack Murphy are honoring the past while creating Buckhead’s sports bar of the future.
