ATLANTA (June 13, 2019) – Just in time to celebrate summer, Agency Restaurant & Bar, Phipps Plaza’s latest dining and late night destination, has unveiled a sumptuous summer menu developed by beloved Atlanta chef Jeffrey Gardner. The Agency Socialthèque (social.tek) concept includes Agency, the restaurant and bar component of the location, and Socialthèque Lounge, showcasing the Buckhead nightlife scene with live music and entertainment on the weekends.
Best known for his tasty tenures in popular Atlanta restaurants, including South City Kitchen, Alma Cocina and the East Cobb favorite, Common Quarter, Gardner has joined the Agency team as culinary director to deliver a full service, summer-inspired seasonal menu. “The goal was to make it fun, approachable and delicious, all with just a touch of a Southern accent,” explains Gardner.
Agency Socialthèque is the first Atlanta outpost for Savannah-based Daniel Reed Hospitality, which owns and operates four of Bull Street’s most popular restaurants and nightspots in the coastal Georgia city’s historic district, including Local 11ten and its adjacent Perch Roof, Daniel Reed’s Public Kitchen & Bar, Artillery and Soho South Café.
Playfully named in honor Atlanta’s most fashion-forward shopping address, Agency Socialthèque opened in early 2019 in the former Twist space at Phipps Plaza. After listening to feedback from guests and with the artful eye of Daniel Reed Hospitality creative director Robby Perkins, the restaurant group translated its successful Savannah brand of Southern hospitality to Buckhead’s uber-busy shopping scene.
With the rollout of Gardner’s inspired new menu, Agency Socialthèque has completed its transformation into one of Buckhead’s dinner destinations and most popular after-work hangouts with a late-night allure that might have Atlantans rethinking that traffic-clogged trip home.
Among the crowd-pleasers on Gardner’s new summer menu are sharable plates, including:
· “Atlanta”-inspired crispy duck wings with lemon pepper wet sauce
· BLT sliders with griddled pork belly, heirloom tomatoes and basil
· Faroe Island salmon tartare with capers, parsley and homemade potato chips
· Pearson Farm Georgia peach caprese salad with country ham, toasted pecans and sherry vinaigrette
Main dish plates, including:
· The double stack burger with American cheese, heirloom tomato, pickles and Jackson, Mississippi-inspired comeback sauce
· Farro and quinoa grain bowl with raw and roasted veggies and avocado with options to add chicken, shrimp or salmon
· Faroe Islands salmon with bunch spinach, chiles, garlic and lemon
· Shrimp and lobster spaghetti with roasted tomatoes, sofrito and basil
· Pan-roasted Springer Mountain chicken with hoppin’ John and Vidalia onions
Highlights of the dessert menu include Georgia peach shortcake, lemon pot de crème with whipped cream and vanilla shortbread, warm berry clafoutis with vanilla ice cream and s’mores sundae with chocolate ganache and toasted marshmallow.
Agency Socialthèque chief mixologist Taylor Maurer, a Daniel Reed Hospitality staffer who has relocated to Atlanta to join the Agency roster, has created a handcrafted summer cocktail menu to complement Gardner’s menu, complete with shrubs created in-house from local fruits and herbs.
