Atlanta Restaurants Pull out the Stops to Celebrate Mom 


ATLANTA (May 1, 2019) – If you’re looking for a recipe for success to honor mom on Mother’s Day, Atlanta-area restaurants have the answer. Simply make a reservation to keep her out of the kitchen on Sunday, May 12.  


While Aria is traditionally closed on Sundays, chef Gerry Klaskala is opening up to make sure moms all over town are treated to the very best. Aria will open its doors from 4:30-8:30 p.m. for what is sure to be a great tasting memory in the making. 404-233-7673,

If you feel like you owe your mom the world but can’t leave Buckhead, Gypsy Kitchen, with its regional Spanish influences, may be just the ticket. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., you’ll be treated to an endless tapas experience that features menu items such as chorizo and manchego plate, roasted beet salad and garlic shrimp. The price per adult is $49 and children is $21. Those inclined toward many toasts, may want to say yes to bottomless mimosas for $19. Next door to Gypsy Kitchen, The Southern Gentleman will treat your mom like the fine lady she is with a prix fixe special she won’t soon forget.  After being served a pastry basket, diners can choose from specials such as lobster truffle mac and cheese, bbq roasted cauliflower steak and buttermilk pie. Brunch with a view is on tap for mom at 5Church Atlanta from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost of a delicious buffet is $40 for adults and $18 for children 12 and under (tax and gratuity not included). The buffet’s the thing at Livingston Restaurant + Bar in the Georgian Terrace Hotel from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tastefully adorn your plate with menu items such as peach French toast, salmon and red wine butter and chef-carved house-smoked turkey breast. The spread also features a selection of breads and pastries, omelet stations, a cold buffet with fruits and salads, a children’s buffet and a dessert station. Truva Turkish Kitchen is happy to take your mom on a trip around the world without ever leaving the confines of Virginia-Highland. The restaurant will be serving its traditional Sunday brunch menu from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. along with Mother’s Day specials of salmon cake, lamb stew and Georgia pecan and apple cobbler. Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar is happy to help mom feel special with its regular brunch served from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Diners also can take advantage of the amazing specials including soft shell crab with green goddess dressing, shaved vegetables, soft egg and country ham; smoked salmon frittata with goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, frisée, fried capers and bacon vinaigrette; and beef short rib hash with fingerling potatoes, caramelized onion, sunny egg and peppercorn hollandaise sauce. 770-635-7641;  

If you bring mom to Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., she can savor a garden of eatin’ experience and enjoy a special three-course prix fixe seed-to-fork culinary adventure. Visit Seed Kitchen & Bar for its popular Sunday brunch and Mother’s Day specials from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Specials include lobster and mushroom frittata with Gruyere, watercress and pancetta crisp and a duck confit crepe with ricotta, spring peas, sauce supreme and sunny-side-up egg. You won’t need to go fishing for compliments if you treat mom to the brunch buffet at The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Canton Street. They’ll be serving up the ocean’s bounties from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The price is $34.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids 12 and under. Multiple Locations 

Children who once took their mothers to Ray’s Restaurants for Mother’s Day are now being treated to the lavish brunch by their own children – the tradition is as long standing as it is highly heralded. Ray’s on the River (770-955-1187) in Sandy Springs and Ray’s at Killer Creek (770-649-0064) in Alpharetta will be wowing guests from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Cost is $55 per adult and $27.50 for children ages 5 to 10. For those planning a day in the city, Ray’s in the City (404-524-9224) will be serving its buffet from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. The cost is $50 for adults; $25 for children ages 5 to 10.

Secreto Southern Kitchen & Bar is serving a special three-course brunch from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at its Brookhaven and Alpharetta locations. The cost is $35 for adults; $17 for children. Ending on a sweet note 

While Decatur’s Revival will be serving brunch and dinner as usual (10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.), they want to help make the celebration last a little longer. Brunch as Usual

The following Atlanta-area dining spots are offering their regular menus to show mom a wonderful time on Mother's Day or any other Sunday: 

  • For brunch with a Latin-vibe head to Babalu®. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., enjoy such features as dulce de leche French toast and crab cake Benedict along with a new brunch menu item – Chef Mary’s sweet-fried grilled cheese that stacks spiced candied bacon, roasted Roma tomatoes and three types of cheese (white cheddar, Swiss and Monterey Jack) on a Baba Bun.   • The Brookhaven (404-464-8971), Midtown (404-968-2288) and Dunwoody (470-395-7904) locations of HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern are serving their regular brunch menus from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Mother’s Day. The day’s special is crab cakes Benedict served with fresh fruit and vanilla yogurt ($15.95).

  • For a fun alternative to Sunday brunch, sporty moms are heading to Loyal Tavern in Marietta. With its welcoming sports atmosphere and spacious dining room that can accommodate large parties, Loyal Tavern offers a menu of elevated tavern-style food, an impressive craft beer program and an extensive bourbon and whiskey selection. 678-921-0456;

  • All locations of Marlow’s Tavern are open for brunch as usual on Mother's Day. A brunch buffet or other special features are available at select locations; call for more information.

  • Brunch at Murphy’s in Virginia-Highland is a must-do any weekend and especially for Mother’s Day. From 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. savor such classics as Eggs T. Murphy, hazelnut-crusted French toast and shrimp and cheddar grits. 404-872-0904;
