SAVOR THE FLAVORS OF THE SEASON AT MILTON’S CUISINE & COCKTAILS’
POPULAR GARDEN DINNER SERIES
Cinco de Mayo-themed Dinner kicks off Series on May 5
ATLANTA (April. 29, 2019) – Chef Derek Dollar’s popular Garden Dinner series sprouts at Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails starting May 5 with additional dinners scheduled throughout spring, summer and fall. These straight-from-the-vine dining experiences boast a variety of dishes prepared with a bounty of heirloom fruits and vegetables harvested from the Crabapple restaurant’s on-site garden Milton’s Acre.
Each dinner kicks off with an evening reception of hors d’oeuvre and libations and an opportunity to explore Milton’s Acre. Guests will then settle in to enjoy a four-course family style dinner of inspired comfort foods served al fresco with wine and the soothing sounds of a cellist.
“Our harvest from Milton’s Acre provides inspiration for so many creative dishes, says Dollar. “Each year, we enjoy welcoming guests to the garden and giving them the opportunity taste the fruits of our labor in such a beautiful setting.”
The first dinner of the series on Sunday, May 5 celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a reception of margaritas and Cinco-de Mayo-themed hors d’oeuvre including spicy watermelon salsa with fresh corn chip and Tajín; mini mushroom quesadillas with smoked Gouda, pickled red onion and Cholula. Courses progress through a first course of tin can nachos; a second course of tacos and tamales featuring lobster tacos on blue corn tortillas and Nashville hot chicken & pickled grit tamales; a third course of wagyu carne asada; and a sweet finale of red velvet churros with orange-cream cheese and chili chocolate dipping sauces.
The series continues with dinners on May 19, Sept. 15, Oct. 13 and Oct. 27. And while the menus have not been finalized, guests may expect Milton’s Acre-inspired dishes such as dandelion green and baby spinach salad with baby beets, pecans, cracked mustard-bacon vinaigrette, crumbled goat cheese and crispy fried shallot; Loudmouth Farms mushroom crepes with sunny-side eggs, grilled ramps, pink peppercorns and Thomasville tomme cream sauce; spice-rubbed wagyu flank steak with grilled corn and heirloom cherry tomato succotash, avocado chimichurri, hand-made blue corn tortillas, charred lime, popcorn shoots and pickled jalapeño and radish; and chocoflan Bundt cake with goat’s milk caramel, toasted almonds and smoked sea salt.
Each dinner begins at 6 p.m. in May and 5 p.m. in September and October. Garden Dinner tickets are $125 per person (including wine, tax and gratuity) and can be purchased online. Tickets are not transferrable for other dates and cannot be refunded within 48 hours of the event.
