TRUVA TURKISH KITCHEN OPENS NEW LOCATION IN VIRGINA-HIGHLAND, OFFERS A FEAST FOR THE SENSES FEATURING TRADITIONAL TURKISH RECIPES
Team Behind Downtown Restaurant Brings Authentic Mediterranean Dining to Another Intown Atlanta Neighborhood
ATLANTA (Feb. 14, 2019) – Truva Turkish Kitchen owner Muzo Saritas is excited to announce that his authentic Mediterranean dining concept is now open in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. Like the original restaurant in downtown Atlanta, the second location of Truva features traditional Turkish cuisine in a beautiful, vibrant setting that is ideal for family meals, business lunches and date nights.
“One of the best ways to learn about a new culture is through its food,” says Saritas, a native of Istanbul. “We feel so fortunate that we can now offer a fully immersive Mediterranean dining experience to the Virginia-Highland community, and we’ve made this new location even more family-focused to serve the residents of the neighborhood.”
Helping Saritas fully immerse guests in the culture of Turkey is executive chef Sehmus Gultekin. Gultekin also was born in Turkey and brings the authentic recipes and bold flavors of his native country to Atlanta. The restaurant’s lunch and dinner menus feature a selection of cold and hot meze, salads, chargrilled kebabs and entrée specialties. The lunch menu also includes a selection of sandwiches. Signature dishes include:
· Stuffed grape leaves with seasoned jasmine rice, onions, currants, pine nuts, olive oil and fresh lemon juice ($7)
· Traditional Turkish-style red lentil soup with onions, potatoes, carrots and flour ($6)
· Braised lamb shank with coriander, mint, eggplant puree and pan jus ($29)
· Vegetarian moussaka with oven-roasted and layered eggplant and potatoes, mushrooms, spinach and béchamel ($18)
· Beef tenderloin kebabs with Turkish-style rice and grilled tomatoes ($26)
· Falafel wrap (lunch, $10)
A kids menu ($5-$7) also is available for children 12 and under, featuring items like grilled chicken, a cheeseburger, grilled cheese and chicken tenders.
Truva’s beverage program features a well-rounded wine list with varietals from all over the world, as well as an extensive cocktail selection to complement Gultekin’s menus.
John Lay of Innerworks Design Group created the modern Mediterranean décor utilizing roomy booths, warm lighting and a vibrant color palette to convey a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. The spacious dining room seats 110 guests, while the bar and patio areas provide an additional 40 seats apiece. A semi-private area also is available for special functions and includes a large bar and lounge area with sofas and plentiful niche seating.
Leading Truva’s front-of-house operations is general manager Chris Cammer, who will be further enhancing the dining experience with the addition of live music in the near future.
