THE NOOK ON PIEDMONT PARK CREATES FULL SKI LODGE EXPERIENCE

WITH APRÈS-SKI SUNDAYS
Midtown’s True Neighborhood Tavern Caps off Weekend Merriment with Drink Specials,

Live Music and Sing-alongs Wrapped in a Festive Atmosphere

ATLANTA (Jan. 3, 2019) – At The Nook on Piedmont Park, it’s possible to enjoy the feel of a cozy ski resort without the hassle of booking a flight or lugging around all that gear. That’s because The Nook has transformed its covered patio into Nookenridge Ski Lodge for the sixth consecutive winter season. To help Atlantans warm up during this chilly time of year, Midtown’s true neighborhood tavern hosts Après-Ski Sundays every Sunday evening from 5 to 9 p.m.

Guests can end their weekend on a high note at Après-Ski Sundays, enjoying live music (singing along is encouraged), drink specials and The Nook’s superb menu of tavern favorites. Après-skiers will feel good about the Sunday indulgence as a portion of proceeds benefits a different local charity each month.

“Our slogan is ‘giving back, it’s what we do.’ Guests can help us do just that by enjoying great music, food and drinks each Sunday throughout the winter season,” says owner Katherine Drolett. “Après-Ski Sundays are a festive goodbye to the weekend and a recharge for the start of a new workweek.”

Sunday evening guests pretend they’re coming off an adventurous day on the slopes as they party on with great deals such as:

·        Founders Solid Gold Premium Lager ($3)

·        Bell’s 16-ounce Winter Wheat Ale ($4)

·        Bell’s 12-ounce Christmas Scotch Ale ($4)

·        Rotating weekly cocktail specials such as Mexican hot chocolate or the pomegranate liqueur spritzer.  ($5)

·        The Nook’s world-famous Totchos™ ($7)

·        Build-your-own s’mores ($15)

Throughout the month of January, a percentage of the sales from each Après-Ski Sunday goes to The Giving Kitchen, the nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance to restaurant workers through financial support and a network of community resources.

The Apres-Ski Sunday live music line-up features the following talented local musicians in January:

·        Jan. 6: Michael Magno

·        Jan. 13: Tyler Porch

·        Jan. 20: Justin Sanzone and Friends

·        Jan. 27: Justin Sanzone and Friends

Après-Ski Sundays take place every week from 5 p.m. to midnight. The Nook on Piedmont Park is located at 1144 Piedmont Ave. NE in Atlanta. For more information, call 404-745-9222 or visit thenookatlanta.com.

About The Nook on Piedmont Park

Established in 2009, The Nook on Piedmont Park is Midtown’s true neighborhood tavern, just a short stroll from the area’s business district and directly across from Atlanta’s largest green space, beautiful Piedmont Park. The Nook’s congenial staff is dedicated to environmentally friendly practices and gives back to the community, with one or more drink specials or featured menu items benefitting a local charity each day. The award-winning menu keeps friends and neighbors coming back with such items as world-famous Totchos, the half-pound classic burger and the Bloody Best—a 32-ounce Bloody Mary topped with pepperoncinis, jalapeños, tots, steak, a slice of toast, lemon, lime and a hard-boiled egg.
