KEVIN GILLESPIE’S FOURTH OF JULY BACKYARD BARBECUE
RETURNS BIGGER AND BETTER!
This year, guests can join the fun in the backyard at Revival or order take out to enjoy at home with friends
ATLANTA (June 13, 2018) – Atlanta chef, restaurateur, speaker and cookbook author Kevin Gillespie’s Fourth of July backyard barbecue is back and bigger than ever. Response to last year’s successful blowout got Gillespie and his Terminus City BBQ team thinking about how to spread their plates of smoky, sticky goodness to backyards across Atlanta. So this year, in addition to the backyard fun at Decatur’s Revival, there are take-out options for hosting the ultimate party at home.
Orders for the Terminus City BBQ To-Go Party Pack must be placed in advance by July 1 via email@example.com and can be picked up on July 4 at the food truck at Revival from noon-3 p.m. The $65 meal, which feeds four hungry people, includes the following:
- Hickory-smoked whole hog barbecue – 2 lbs.
- Buns from Holeman & Finch Bakery Co. (6)
- Southern Revival potato salad (1 pint)
- Shaker-style coleslaw (1 pint)
- Old-fashioned banana pudding (1 pint)
- Sour pickles & sweet onions
- Cracklings & sauce
Fourth of July revelers can also gather at Revival, Gillespie’s family-style Decatur restaurant, for a backyard party with featured plates (choice of hickory-smoked whole hog barbecue with fresh baked bread or a grilled pimento cheese sandwich, shaker-style coleslaw, Southern Revival potato salad, sour pickles, sweet onions, old-fashioned banana pudding, and water or iced tea), beer, $4 signature cocktails and outdoor games. Terminus City’s classic BBQ sauce, aged in American Spirit Whiskey barrels, will also be available for purchase. This one-of-a-kind celebration on Wednesday, July 4 lasts from noon-4 p.m. or until the barbecue runs out!
Tickets are $20 per plate in advance and $25 at the door (excluding tax and gratuity). Kids plates are available for $10. Guests receive a ticket for a barbecue plate, a Terminus City BBQ koozie and a coupon for $5 off a future purchase at Terminus City BBQ. Advance tickets can be purchased through Red Beard Merchandise or in person at Gunshow and Revival. With food and drinks in hand, families can mingle at communal picnic tables and on the back and side porches of Revival (the restaurant itself will be closed).
“We’re excited to be bringing all the food and backyard fun people loved from last year while offering guests a way to share our barbecue with friends in their own backyards this year as well,” says Gillespie. “Whether you’re hanging out with us here in Decatur or at your own celebration, July Fourth is all about connecting and celebrating with your friends and family.”
Revival is located at 129 Church Street in Decatur. For more information, call 470-225-6770 or visit revivaldecatur.com.
