With summer in full swing, Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar in Virginia-Highland is welcoming diners with a variety of new menu options. Weekend brunch brings new matcha French toast with choice of Applewood smoked bacon or pesto chicken sausage ($12) and Southern Benedict topping buttermilk biscuits with poached eggs, andouille sausage and tomato-chili hollandaise ($11). Hearty lunch appetites will enjoy steak frites ($14) and honey balsamic salmon ($14). Dinner guests can try out the new hot pimento cheese and chorizo dip ($11) followed by charred squid and linguini ($18). Not to be outdone, the “Always Available” menu boasts an andouille and peppers sandwich with Provolone cheese ($12) and two new burgers ($8) – the Amigo with roasted poblano, guac and pepper Jack cheese and the Bayou burger with andouille sausage, remoulade and pimento cheese.
