Gunshow and Umi headline the marquee for the first two episodes of “Where Hollywood Eats,” The Hollywood Reporter’s video series shown on ReachMe TV. Home to approximately 14 movie studios, could Georgia be Hollywood East or as Gunshow executive chef Joey Ward says, “Y’allywood”? One thing’s sure, seeing celebrities around town is becoming the norm and, well, stars have to eat. Gunshow, Kevin Gillespie’s Glenwood Park restaurant, stars in the first “Where Hollywood Eats” show of the season. Chef Ward leads viewers through the restaurant’s Southern dim sum-type experience that draws such clientele as “The Mindy Project’s” Mindy Kaling and Mandy Moore of “This Is Us.” The second episode hooks viewers up with Umi, Buckhead’s renowned sushi spot. Umi chef Fuyuhiko Ito cuts up, showing his knife skills and revealing that Jennifer Lawrence calls his Miyazaki beef steak “the best steak she ever had.” In actuality, while celebrities often receive star billing, the restaurants themselves are the main characters in this video series. As for stars, Atlanta Dish followers may remember, we’ve shared “Star Grazing” sightings at these out-of-this-world restaurants over the years.
