The Alden Now Open in Chamblee’s Parkview on Peachtree

The Alden, chef Jared Hucks’ inspiring new restaurant, is now open in Chamblee’s Parkview on Peachtree mixed-use development. Melding expertise earned while working at prestigious restaurants around the world with invaluable research conducted while operating local supper club Dogwood Table, Hucks cultivates a guest-nurturing dining experience encircling superior ingredients, accommodating service and a sense of culinary celebration. Though he’s traversed Australia, Thailand, Spain and Denmark during his career, Hucks returned to his home front -- he grew up within five miles of the restaurant site -- to create a restaurant he hopes will feel like home and become a well-loved dining companion. Look for healthy, seasonal American cuisine and dinner and brunch menus featuring a modern twist on Southern classics and culturally influenced mainstays coming out of The Alden’s open kitchen into the sleek-yet-intimate setting.

Dinner, served Tuesday through Saturday, offers options of smaller dishes ($7-$18) and larger dishes ($21-$38) including the pan Asian egg, a soft coddled farm egg with bok choy, ginger and rice cracker ($15); Maine sea scallops with allium, chorizo picante, kale and preserved lime ($18); Florida grouper with peperoni arrosto, black olive oil, pine nuts and caper berry ($31); and Border Springs rack of lamb with rosemary, parsley root, glazed turnips, plum and mint jus ($38). An impressive Sunday brunch calls out from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., serving turkey and sweet potato hash with red jasmine rice, peppers, crispy shallots, basted egg and prik nam pla ($14); grilled steak and eggs benedict with black onion jam, red wine jelly, béarnaise, brioche and watercress ($18) and more. A dynamic beverage program drives cutting-edge cocktails and fresh, botanical-driven drinks showcasing seasonal juices, sodas, bitters, vermouth and tonics all made in house. The wine list highlights independently owned farms practicing biodynamic winemaking. Beers center on domestic craft producers creating Old World-style beers.
